Eli Sopow has a unique perspective of the workplace and
organizations. Throughout his life he has been a logger, a
construction worker, a journalist, an Associate Deputy
Minister in government, a vice-president of an international
public affairs company, a director with a medical association,
a university instructor, and an advisor to law enforcement.

His career has taken him from South America to the Arctic
Circle, from Washington DC to Los Angeles, and from Halifax
to Vancouver. He has completed over 60 research studies
into the impact of emotion and knowledge factors on public
and personnel attitudes, as well as the link between culture,
system structures, and organizational climate. In addition, he
has presented more than 400 workshops and talks. His
clients have included Greenpeace, Starbucks Coffee
Company, the US Department of Homeland Security, major
financial institutions, non-profit organizations, and
professional associations.

Dr. Sopow's educational background includes a doctorate in
human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate
University in Santa Barbara, CA, a Masters degree in human
development from Fielding, a second Masters degree in
leadership and training from Royal Roads University in
Victoria, Canada, a diploma in Public Sector Management
from the University of Victoria, and a Certificate in Peer
Counseling from the University of British Columbia.

His work on change processes, particularly the role of human
emotion in organizational conflict, resulted in Dr. Sopow
receiving the international Howard Chase Award for
outstanding issues management, presented in Washington
DC in 2000. He has also received three national awards for
outstanding corporate issues management and nine regional
awards for investigative journalism.

Dr. Sopow heads a team at the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police -- Pacific Region -- specializing in organizational
development, change management, and human research
studies. He is also a partner with
Sopow & Wilde
Organizational Consulting, as well as being an Associate
Faculty member at the Royal Roads University School of
Leadership, and the university's MBA program.
