Do you have examples of Corporate
Personality Disorder?
Are you working in a place that exhibits clear signs of Corporate Personality Disorder? Do do
know of such organizations? Do you have something in common with Robin the family doctor in
Vancouver, with Karen and Josh the peaceful protesters in New York, with Olga the
environmentalist, or with Bill the burnt-out Georgia firefighter? (They are all found in Corporate
Personality Disorder: Surviving & Saving Sick Organizations).
I'd love to hear your story, and especially how Corporate Personality Disorder (CPD) is affecting
your life both at work and at home. Please use the feedback form to share with me your feelings.
Also, if you've had a chance to read my book, please let me know what you think. Has it helped
you in any way? How can I improve the book?
There's no denying that CPD is running amok. Too many of us are getting ground down, burned
out and bummed out, and too often we feel that it is we who are at fault when in fact the problem
lies with how organizations are structured and led.
Many us, and indeed many corporations and institutions, are seeing that what was good for
organizations during the Industrial Revolution is a dismal failure when applied to the complexities
of today. What many places are finding is that there are many lessons to learn about
organization, adaptability, and evolution from natural systems. Things are changing, but there is
also huge resistance. After all, a great deal of power, pride, and profit is tied up with antiquated
models of leading and managing.
So, I look forward to hear from you, and evolving both this web site and our mutual
understanding of how to both survive and save organizations.
